Boujoux began the way most good things do, with a story worth telling and a belief that something beautiful shouldn't be forgotten.

The name is a blend of two French words: boutons (buttons) and bijoux (jewelry). It's also a nod to Louisiana, where founder Mandy Roussel calls home, and where the French language still lives in the names of parishes, streets, and people.

Mandy's journey into jewelry started with a deep love of vintage materials, especially buttons. The kind found in old sewing boxes, estate sales, and the dusty back corners of antique shops. Buttons made of glass, brass, mother of pearl, and bakelite. Buttons with history.

That love led her to design for Grandmother's Buttons, a beloved shop in St. Francisville, Louisiana, where owner Susan gave her blessing and her encouragement. It was the spark that made Boujoux come alive.

Boujoux embraces the idea that nothing is bound by its original purpose. Here, buttons get to be the jewelry they've always wanted to be, and the result is something entirely its own - not mass produced and not replicated, made by hand one piece at a time in Baton Rouge.
